Baker Street Bikes has been established for seven years and is run by owners Chris Balchin and Richard Holkham. Chris comes from a strong engineering background, and Richard has had a highly successful cycle racing career.

Whether you want a custom steel mountain bike or the latest Giant TCR, we can satisfy your requirements. We highly recommend Ridgeback hybrids which are a huge improvement on the mountain bikes often sold for road use.

We are conveniently located 5 minutes from Brighton station, on the London Road (A23). The shop has grown mainly on recommendation and is used by many clubs and cycling organisations. Come and see why so many cyclists recommend us!

Dia Comp 'Shot' brake lever

Posted by lewis Thu, 16 Oct 2008 13:58:00 GMT

New in stock!

A new type of lever for the urban fixed wheel rider.

The lever can be actuated with either hand, but not both. One side of the split lever pulls the cable like a conventional brake lever, the other lengthens the housing in the same fashion that a ‘cross lever functions. It fits a 25.4mm handlebar (with shims for 22.2) with a hinged clamp for easy removal.

Available in Black or Silver and sells for £24.99!

London to Brighton 15th June 2008

Posted by lewis Fri, 06 Jun 2008 18:38:00 GMT

With nearly a week before the event it might be time to double check that you have everything that you may need!?!

Water bottle? Cycling shorts? Comfy gel saddle for that old boneshaker of a bike? Do you have a bike?

(that last one may seem silly, but we actually had several people buying bikes specifically for the L to B in the last week!!)

Maybe just a handful of energy bars to keep you going along the way!

Sun, Sea, and Cycles!

Posted by lewis Sat, 24 May 2008 09:20:00 GMT

Sun! Yes at last summer is warming our faces and drying out the trails, giving our bikes a nice sprinkle of dust after a warm days ride. With all this temptation to get out and ride our workshop is at full capacity with everyone having their bikes checked over and tweaked up for some summer riding.

So to avoid disappointment give us a call and book your bike in for whatever it needs done well in advanced! On average we are fully booked about a week ahead of ourselves at the moment. This is likely to increase around the first weeks in June as the London to Brighton bike ride draws nearer!
